Every Day With Saint Francis de Sales, October 11th

If at times we are tempted to be vain in seeing the grace of God conferred on us, it will be an infallible remedy to consider our own ingratitude, imperfection and misery. If we reflect on how we behaved when God was not with us, we will easily understand that what we do when He is with us is not the result of our own efforts. We will certainly be happy with what we have done, but we will give the glory to God.
