There is no salvation outside of the Catholic Church

Because so many , especially those calling themselves Catholic, even those saying they are Priests, who  are confused as to the teaching of the Catholic Church, when it comes to those who are not visibly within her, but, are in fact, for sure, as far as most people with intelligent minds can know, not Catholic, but, still Protestant, never, ever, making any effort to convert, I will post just a few quotes that will show that the Catholic Church does teach that there is no salvation outside of the Catholic Church.  Even if there are many, modern writings that seem to say that the opposite is true, even catechisms, it is important to remember, that these writings are not considered to be infallible declarations that tell us, that we must disobey what the Church has taught and declared, solemnly and infallibly, when teaching on matters of Faith and Morals..  As a matter of fact, no one who is Catholic, is bound to obey these things, especially when, some of the things written within, fly in the face of what the Catholic Church has always said for herself, without doubt.  Here are a few things we have been given, so that we can know that we believe the truth, when claiming that there is no salvation outside of the Catholic Church, all those of adequate mind, and age of reason refusing to convert into the Catholic church, therefore, are on the road to Hell, unless they convert, even Protestants.

First I will quote from Pope Boniface III, in his wonderful Unam Sanctum..  If any person calling themselves Catholic refuses to acknowledge this, and then, appropriately change his or her position, regarding the fact that none shall be saved outside of the Catholic Church,  stubbornly holding heresy that reduces the Catholic Church to merely a popular shopping mall of faith, where all belong, even if there is no physical proof that they do, then, sadly, there is little hope for that person.

Pope Boniface III, Unam Sanctum
“Urged by faith, we are obliged to believe and to maintain that the Church is one, holy, catholic, and also apostolic. We believe in her firmly and we confess with simplicity that outside of her there is neither salvation nor the remission of sins... Therefore, if the Greeks or others should say that they are not confided to Peter and to his successors, they must confessnot being the sheep of Christ, since Our Lord says in John ‘there is onesheepfold and one shepherd.’ ...Furthermore, we declare, we proclaim, we define that it is absolutely necessary for salvation that every human creaturebe subject to the Roman Pontiff.”

Every human creature, must be subject to the Roman Pontiff, do you see???  Are Protestants subject to the Roman Pontiff???  No

If that weren't enough here is another quote that goes so far as to specifically exclude all of those who would be outside of the Catholic Church, Jews, Pagans, even those who would shed their blood for the Faith..  Couldn't be more clear, right???  I mean, even if someone sheds their blood for the Catholic Faith, and they are not joined to Her, they will not attain eternal life, so, how could Protestants then, be saved, if they do not convert????

 Pope Eugene  IV, Contate Domino

It firmly believes, professes, and proclaims that those not living within the Catholic Church, not only pagans, but also Jews and heretics and schismatics cannot become participants in eternal life, but will depart “into everlasting fire which was prepared for the devil and his angels” [Matt. 25:41], unless before the end of life the same have been added to the flock; and that the unity of the ecclesiastical body is so strong that only to those remaining in it are the sacraments of the Church of benefit for salvation, and do fastings, almsgiving, and other functions of piety and exercises of Christian service produce eternal reward, and that no one, whatever almsgiving he has practiced, even if he has shed blood for the name of Christ, can be saved, unless he has remained in the bosom and unity of the Catholic Church.

If you like you can always read the entire encyclical for yourself, it is easy to find.

Here also is the oh so famous, Athanasian Creed, it couldn't get more clear than this:

The Athanasian Creed
[QUICUNQUE VULT]

  • Whosoever will be saved, before all things it is necessary that he hold the Catholic [Apostolic/Universal] Faith, which except everyone shall have kept whole and undefiled, without doubt he will perish eternally.
  • Now the Catholic Faith is this: We worship One God in Trinity and Trinity in Unity, neither confounding the Persons nor dividing the substance.
  • For there is one Person of the Father, another of the Son, another of the Holy Spirit. But the Godhead of the Father, of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, is One, the Glory equal, the Majesty coeternal.
  • Such as the Father is, such is the Son, and such is the Holy Spirit; the Father uncreated, the Son uncreated, and the Holy Spirit uncreated; the Father infinite, the Son infinite, and the Holy Spirit infinite; the Father eternal, the Son eternal, and the Holy Spirit eternal. And yet not three eternals but one eternal, as also not three infinites, nor three uncreated, but one uncreated, and one infinite. So, likewise, the Father is almighty, the Son almighty, and the Holy Spirit almighty; and yet not three almighties but one almighty.
  • So the Father is God, the Son God, and the Holy Spirit God; and yet not three Gods but one God. So the Father is Lord, the Son Lord, and the Holy Spirit Lord; and yet not three Lords but one Lord. For like as we are compelled by Christian truth to acknowledge every Person by Himself to be both God and Lord; so are we forbidden by the Catholic religion to say, there be three Gods or three Lords.
  • The Father is made of none, neither created nor begotten. The Son is of the Father alone, not made nor created but begotten. The Holy Spirit is of the Father and the Son, not made nor created nor begotten but proceeding. So there is one Father not three Fathers, one Son not three Sons, and Holy Spirit not three Holy Spirits. And in this Trinity there is nothing before or after, nothing greater or less, but the whole three Persons are coeternal together and coequal.
  • So that in all things, as is aforesaid, the Trinity in Unity and the Unity in Trinity is to be worshipped. He therefore who wills to be in a state of salvation, let him think thus of the Trinity.
  • But it is necessary to eternal salvation that he also believe faithfully the Incarnation of our Lord Jesus Christ. The right faith therefore is that we believe and confess that our Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is God and Man.
  • He is God of the substance of the Father begotten before the worlds, and He is man of the substance of His mother born in the world; perfect God, perfect man subsisting of a reasoning soul and human flesh; equal to the Father as touching His Godhead, inferior to the Father as touching His Manhood.
  • Who although He be God and Man yet He is not two but one Christ; one however not by conversion of the GodHead in the flesh, but by taking of the Manhood in God; one altogether not by confusion of substance but by unity of Person. For as the reasoning soul and flesh is one man, so God and Man is one Christ.
  • Who suffered for our salvation, descended into hell, rose again from the dead, ascended into heaven, sits at the right hand of the Father, from whence He shall come to judge the living and the dead. At whose coming all men shall rise again with their bodies and shall give account for their own works. And they that have done good shall go into life eternal, and they who indeed have done evil into eternal fire.
This is the Catholic faith, which except a man shall have believed faithfully and firmly he cannot be in a state of salvation.

So, there you have it.  Yes, many, as a matter of fact, most people calling themselves Catholic, do not believe the truth about this, and this is what Damns them, because, they reject the Catholic Church, and deny infallibly declared Dogma having to do with Faith and Morals.  Exchanging the truth for a modern, comforting lie, that must be easier to believe for them, even if it turns their church, into the gates of destruction, where the entrance is wide and many enter, there in.

Enter ye in at the narrow gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way that leadeth to destruction, and many there are who go in thereat.

Just a question.. respectfully. If a catholic today submits to the teaching of the current Pope, how is that invalid?

"Every human creature, must be subject to the Roman Pontiff, do you see???"

I am not trying to be contentious, truly. I just don't understand how we know the our current pastor or pope are wrong and in the past they were all right. There were many disagreements amoung them in the past too. Many stories of saints point to disagreements within the Church, including Popes and Bishops being "wrong."

This is just hard for me because I consider myself a strong believer in the Catholic Church, and I believe I have the most holy, old, Italian immigrant priest. He is so wise and faithful he nearly radiate the Light of Christ.
